Your photo is doing most of the work
If you have scrolled TikTok or Instagram in October, you have seen the Bulin 47 AI trend: the Dominican artist's viral street freestyle, outside a restaurant in Spain, re-rendered with someone else as the performer. Friends, couples and Dominican celebrities have all had a turn.
There are already plenty of explainers on how to make a Bulin 47 AI video from start to finish. This post is about the step most people rush: picking the photo. One-photo recast tools only get a single image of you, so whatever is in that picture, good or bad, ends up in every frame.
What the AI takes from you, and what it doesn't
A one-photo recast splits the job in two. The movement, timing, camera work and crowd come from the built-in Bulin 47 template, which is the original clip. Everything that makes the performer look like you comes from your photo:
- your face and hairstyle
- your skin tone
- your outfit, cap, chains and any other visible accessories
That last point is the useful one. You cannot change the choreography, but you fully control the look. A blurry selfie in a hoodie gives you a blurry performer in a hoodie. A sharp, well-lit portrait in a fitted cap and a chain gives the AI much more to work with.
The photo checklist
Before you edit anything, check whether your photo already passes. These are the requirements Bulin47 Trend AI publishes, and they make sense for any recast tool:
| Check | What works | What to avoid |
|---|---|---|
| People | One adult, alone in the frame | Group shots, friends cut in half at the edge |
| Angle | Facing the camera, face and upper body visible | Profile shots, extreme close-ups of the face |
| Light | Even light on the face | Hard shadows, backlit faces, night flash |
| Face | Nothing covering it | Sunglasses, heavy beauty filters, masks |
| File | JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB, at least 512 px a side | Screenshots of screenshots, tiny thumbnails |
If your photo ticks every box, skip straight to the video. If it fails one or two, you can often fix it instead of reshooting.
Four FLUX Kontext edits that fix a weak photo
The FLUX Kontext editor changes an existing photo from a plain-language instruction, so it is well suited to small, targeted fixes. Upload your image (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB), describe one change, and pick the 9:16 aspect ratio so the result is already vertical. Each edit costs 10 credits.
The rule for every prompt below: tell the model to leave your face alone. You want a better photo of you, not a new person.
1. Fix the lighting
Indoor phone photos are often yellow, dim or lit from one side. That is the most common reason a recast loses likeness.
Relight this photo with soft, even daylight on the face, as if standing outside on a bright overcast day. Keep the person's face, features, skin tone, hair and clothing exactly the same.
2. Remove the extra person
Your best photo has a friend in it? Crop if you can. If they overlap you, remove them:
Remove the second person on the right and fill the space with the same background. Keep the remaining person completely unchanged.
3. Dress for the freestyle
Because the outfit and accessories carry over into the video, this is where you can have fun. Go for the street look of the original, or something completely your own:
Change the outfit to a white oversized T-shirt, a black fitted baseball cap and a thin silver chain. Keep the person's face, hair, skin tone, pose and the background exactly the same.
Keep accessories simple and clearly visible. Fine details such as small logos or text on clothing are the first things AI video redraws inconsistently.
4. Tidy a messy background
The background of your photo is replaced by the original street scene, but a cluttered one can make it harder to judge whether your photo is actually clear. A quick clean-up helps you review it:
Replace the background with a plain light gray wall. Keep the person, their face, clothing and lighting exactly the same.
What not to edit
Some fixes do more harm than good:
- Do not remove sunglasses with AI. The model has to invent your eyes, and the recast will faithfully animate eyes that are not yours. Retake the photo instead.
- Do not lighten, darken or "beautify" your skin. Skin tone comes straight from the photo, so change it and the video stops looking like you.
- Do not use edits to make yourself look like someone else. That includes Bulin 47 himself and any celebrity. The point of the trend is seeing you in the scene.
After each edit, compare the result with your original side by side. If the face has shifted even slightly, use the original or try again with a stricter prompt.
Making the video
With a good portrait ready, the rest is quick. On Bulin47 Trend AI you upload the photo, choose the original soundtrack or a silent video, review the credit quote, and confirm. The result is a 720p vertical MP4 that you download from My videos within 7 days. Packs can only be bought while the generator is accepting new videos, so look at the generator first, not the pricing page.
On cost, it is worth knowing upfront: if you have been searching for a free Bulin 47 AI video generator, choosing a photo and seeing the quote are free, but generating uses credits. A 10-second video is 50 credits, and the smallest pack is $9.99 for 100 credits, enough for two takes. That is a good reason to spend a minute on the photo first rather than paying for a second attempt.
Quick answers
Can I use a photo of a friend?
Only with their permission, and only if they are an adult. Someone sending you a picture has not said yes to being turned into an AI video, so ask about the video itself.
Will the edited outfit really show up in the video?
The recast takes outfit and visible accessories from your photo, so a clear, simple outfit should carry over. AI redraws every frame, though, so small details, hands and lip sync can vary. Watch the whole clip before you post it.
Does it matter if my photo is horizontal?
Not for the requirements, as long as your face and upper body are visible and the image is at least 512 pixels on each side. Exporting from Kontext at 9:16 simply keeps more of you in frame.
Should I label the video as AI?
Yes. Most big platforms, TikTok and YouTube included, have a setting or rule for marking realistic AI content, and the trend is more fun when everyone is in on the joke.
